The purpose of this research was to evaluate how the Case Method influences the achievement of competencies of an industrial lubrication subject in students of a higher-level technical school. This method is an active methodology developed at Harvard University and is based on meaningful learning. The study was quasi-experimental of an applied type and explanatory level with a non-equivalent control group design. For the application of the method, three case studies were used according to the development of the subject; and to obtain the field data, a questionnaire was used as an instrument, with which the achievement of the skills developed in the subject was measured in its three dimensions (conceptual, procedural and attitudinal). The sample consisted of 68 students from the 2018-I semester regular course of the SENATI School of Engineering assigned into two groups: 34 in a control group and 34 in an experimental group. The instruments were evaluated for their validity and reliability in a pilot test. Data processing was carried out using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics using the Shapiro-Wilk normality statistic. To contrast the hypotheses, the T-Student test was applied for related groups, considering a significance of 5%. In accordance with the results, it was possible to establish that the Case Method significantly influences the achievement of the subject's competencies by the students.
