Background: The relationship between patient's socioeconomic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards COVID-19 in Peru, has not been studied in depth yet. Materials and methods: A questionnaire was applied to 200 adult patients confirmed with COVID-19; treated at a primary care center in Lima, Peru, to get information on their personal and demographic characteristics. Also, we use a validated instrument for knowledge, attitudes and practices associated with COVID-19. For the analysis, a logistic regression was used considering the value p≤0.05 as statistically significant. Results: The patients obtained scores of 16.0 (SD of 3.7), 67.9 (SD of 14.4) and 16.9 (SD of 3.7) in knowledge, attitudes, and practices about COVID-19, which are considered adequate. It was found that patients older than 45 years (OR=4.87, 95% CI between 1.77-13.39) had a greater association with a high level of knowledge. Conclusions: The patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and were treated at the Chancas de Andahuaylas health center, located in the district of Santa Anita, Lima, had a high level of knowledge, attitudes, and an appropriate level of practice. Likewise, a strong association was found between age and level of knowledge.
