Objectives: To build and validate a Social Rating Scale for the Elderly Adult, in Lima Peru 2015. Material and Method: qualitative and quantitative study. The sample consisted of 130 elderly adults. The instrument was designed with five variables: economic support, environmental physical support, family support, personal skills and social support. Results: The average age was 71.31. Female patients were 80 (61.64%) and 50 (38.46%) male sex. Correspondence analysis, allowed final adjustment of the scale. Reliability was examined in terms of their internal consistency showing a Cronbach Alpha General of 0.62, and an ordinal alpha (α = 0.77). The exploratory factor analysis made evident the validity of unidimensional structure of the EVASAM-15. Criterion validity have been confirmed by the results of contrast between the conclusion of the evāsam-15 and the expert assessment (sensitivity = 92.7%, and specificity = 100%). Whole this integrated evidence supports the construct validity and results of the analysis of agreement (kappa = 0.94, p <0.001) confirm the functionality of the proposed standard. Conclusions: The EVASAM-15 evaluated, is a measuring instrument to diagnose the social deterioration of the elderly adult person, so it can be used by health professionals involved in comprehensive geriatric assessment.
