This paper reviews the main research on work stress in health personnel in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the start of the pandemic, these personnel have been involved in the constant fight against this event, for which has dealt with complex situations to the extent of the increase in this context. On many occasions, these conditions exceeded the response capacity of health personnel, who ended up with pictures of work stress. The problem presented has made it possible to establish as a general objective the analysis of the impact of work stress on health personnel in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on this approach, two specific objectives were established: first, to know the impact of work stress on health personnel in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic according to gender; second, to know the impact of work stress on health personnel in Latin America during the COVID-19 pandemic according to the type of health personnel. The conceptual framework for this study is mainly scientific articles published between 2019 and 2022, with the aim of contributing to the academic community and researchers in expanding cognitive horizons through rigorous investigation of the variable.
