The objective of this work is to develop emotional skills in a second grader child through a psychopedagogical support call Shadow Teacher. The program lasted seven months and was evaluated quarterly. The following techniques were used for data collection: observation technique through check list and a behavioural record; interview technique and file review. It is worth mentioning that both observation instruments were used for the pre-test, quarterly evaluation, and post – test in order to corroborate the effectiveness of the program. At the beginning of the intervention, the child presented poorly adaptive behaviours such as hitting, kicking, pinching and running away from the classroom, which put at risk the people around him and himself. Therefore, it was focus on the use of various techniques for the regulation and self-control of his behaviour, also making use techniques such as moulding, breathing techniques, turtle technique and behaviour modification through positive reinforcement. The results were significant, since there was evidence of an increase in his interpersonal intelligence, intrapersonal intelligence, adaptability scale and stress management scale according to the Bar – On Emotional and Social Intelligence model. This were reflected in the frequency decrease of hitting, pulling, crying and yelling, increase of his verbalizing when he was angry, and a better organization of his materials was seen.
