The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between the basic digital skills and the academic performance of the second semester students in the virtual course of Introduction to Total Quality of SENATI - Huancayo. The population was made up of 345 students belonging to the second semester of 5 specialties (Automotive Mechanics, Maintenance Mechanics, Industrial Electricity, Textile Confections and Computer Equipment Support and Maintenance), through a probabilistic sampling, a final sample size of 183 students. It is a study that was carried out under a quantitative approach, at a correlational descriptive level, of applied type and non-experimental design. The instrument of evaluation of the basic digital competencies validated under expert judgments, and the minutes of notes of the course of introduction to the total quality were used. It was found that there is a direct relationship between academic performance and basic digital skills in their dimensions: technological fluency, knowledge learning and digital citizenship. Finally, it is concluded that it is necessary to reinforce basic digital skills in students, as this will improve their academic performance, reflected in their academic performance.
