Objective: To estimate the social cost of nasal sequelae in patients with cleft lip and palate treated at the Dental Clinic of the Faculty of Stomatology of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia from January 2016 to December 2020. Materials and methods: A partial economic analysis from the social perspective was carried out under a case series design in a population of 30 adult patients with nasal sequelae due to cleft lip and palate. The ENAHO questions were used to evaluate the socioeconomic and demographic variables, the INSN-SB care guides and its rate for medical care costs, the ROE scale to assess the quality of life in relation to nasal sequel and the DAP technique to calculate the monetary cost of the sequelae from the perspective of the patients. The categorical variables were calculated with frequencies and percentages, while the numerical variables were evaluated with measures of central tendency and dispersion. Distributions were compared with the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests. Results: 70% were male, 73% were in the 18-29 age group, almost 50% came from the districts of San Juan de Lurigancho and Ate, 94% were single, 73% were students, only 10% had completed technical or university education, 16% do not have health insurance, 80% presented a deviation of the nose, and 90% had income less than the minimum living wage. The highest direct cost reported was dental treatment and hospitalization, while intangible costs demonstrated a monetary underestimation regarding the socio-emotional dimension of quality of life related to nasal sequelae. Conclusion: About half of the social cost (S/ 12,000 soles) were borne by the patients.
