The rainbow trout salmonid is the aquaculture species of continental origin with the highest production at the national level. Trout farming is limited by the presentation of high mortalities of infectious origin, which generates high losses being economic and productive. Faced with this problem, prophylactic alternatives are being developed, such as the use of products derived from plants with an antibacterial effect. Based on this, the present study focused on the evaluation of the susceptibility of 34 bacterial strains of Aeromonas spp., one of the main pathogens that killed trout in Peru, against essential oils of muña, molle and lemon. For this, two in vitro tests were carried out. The agar diffusion method was able to determine that the 15% muña essential oil presented strong antibacterial activity, with inhibition halos of 16.466 ± 0.840 mm in diameter, while the molle and lemon oils showed moderate activity against pathogenic strains. of Aeromonas spp. The broth microdilution method will be able to determine the inhibitory effect of muña essential oil at a concentration (CMI) of 0.625 and 0.156% v/v. Likewise, it is guaranteed that muña EO has bactericidal activity at concentrations of 0.625 and 0.156% v/v (minimum bactericidal concentration).
