Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that begins in childhood and persists throughout life, manifested through the symptoms of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, which interfere considerably at school, work and social level. The objective of the intervention is to improve the score of emotional and behavioral regulation in a child with ADHD through the application of an intervention program based on a cognitive behavioral approach. For data collection, the following were used: the psychological interview with the child and the parents, neuropsychological tests, checklist, behavior frequency record and behavioral incidence report from the teacher. At the end of the intervention, an increase in self-control levels was evidenced. At the behavioral level, it was observed that the child manages to reduce impulsive behaviors such as: interrupting when speaking, throwing objects and taking things away, while, at the emotional level, the child manages to identify and express his emotions, as well as adequately control his emotions. negative emotions (anger), through different strategies that were provided in the sessions. This means that the intervention with the child was favorable since it was possible to improve the emotional and behavioral self-regulation score.
