Background: Vaccination against COVID-19 is one of the most important measures to reduce the spread and the morbidity and mortality of the disease. Objectives: To describe the knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding vaccination against COVID-19 in medical students at UPCH. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study. The students from the school of medicine were surveyed using a validated electronic questionnaire and a multivariate analysis was performed with the data. Results: 352 medical students participated in the study. Most of them obtained a high number of correct answers in the questions related to the types and immunity generated by the vaccines, the schedules, the indications and contraindications for vaccination and the adverse effects of the vaccine. A positive correlation was found with the year of studies they were studying. 59.1% of the students perceive that vaccination is safe and 90.9% recommend it. These results also correlated with the year of studies and the number of doses of the vaccine received. 99.7% of those surveyed have at least one dose of the vaccine and 88% have the 3 recommended doses for their age group. The main source of information used by students to find out about vaccination are courses, workshops, and seminars. Conclusions: Medical students at UPCH have a good level of knowledge about vaccination against COVID-19, maintain a positive attitude and good practices about vaccination against COVID-19; however, there are important concepts that need to be reinforced.
