Objective: To evaluate the association between dental caries and nutritional status of 6-year-old school children in 1st grade of primary school in public educational centers in the constitutional province of Callao that are part of the “Live Healthy” program of the NGO Vision Solidaria of the Constitutional province of Callao. Methods: The sample consisted of 228 students, who were scheduled sessions of oral clinical evaluation and anthropometric measurements, for subsequent quantification with the DMFT / ceod index and simplified Oral Hygiene Index and obtaining the BMI / age. The calibration process obtained a confidence level of 0.8 by means of the Kappa coefficient. For the statistical analysis, the STATA / SE 15.0 program for Windows was used. The Spearmann's correlation coefficient and Pearson's Chi Square test were applied to determine the bivariate relationship. Results: There was no statistically significant correlation; Likewise, no association was found between nutritional status and dental caries. 69.54% of patients with dental caries presented normal weight, 14.94% were overweight and 13.79% were obese. Conclusion: No association was found in between nutritional status and dental caries.
