The efforts to control the pandemic have focused on the development and effective distribution of vaccines. In fact, the success of vaccination campaigns to control the pandemic does not exclusively depend on the efficacy or safety of the vaccines, but also on the acceptance rate of the population. In Peru, different risk groups were prioritized, including patients living with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), whose population is susceptible to mistrust; therefore, it is important to assess their perception of vaccination against COVID-19. Objective: To determine the knowledge and attitudes towards COVID-19 vaccination in patients living with the human immunodeficiency virus. Materials-Methods: A prospective descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, 371 patients living with HIV were surveyed in person, the information was submitted into a database and analyzed by the software program for statistics and scientific data version 17.1 (STATA). Results: About 90% of people surveyed were willing to receive the vaccine, the average number of correct answers was 6, it was also observed that 94.5% of those who considered HIV as a risk factor for severe COVID -19 had intention to receive the vaccine immediately. Conclusion: The inclination towards vaccination readiness was dispersed throughout the study population. Patients who were willing to be vaccinated obtained a mean of higher knowledge in contrast to those who refused.
