Background: In Peru, the suicide rate has increased from 2004 with 0.46% to 2013 with 1.13%. Globally, only 24% of people were found to have had treatment up to a month before the suicide act. Objectives: To determine the proportion of people with suicidality who have had access to treatment and to explore the variables related to it. Materials and methods: It is a secondary analysis of the ENDES 2019 database. The relationship of each variable with access to treatment was explored through a bivariate and multivariate analysis, using logistic regression and considering the statistical weights of the sampling. Results: Between people with suicidality, 11% had access to treatment. In the multivariate analysis, the variables that were associated with a lower probability of access to treatment were: male gender (OR 0.58; 95% CI 0.43 - 0.78); and those with more probability of access to treatment were: people with health insurance (OR 1.82; 95% CI: 1.29 - 2.56), higher socioeconomic group and higher level of instruction. Conclusion: In Peru, only 11% of the population with suicidality had access to treatment. It was found that males, people without health insurance, people with a lower socioeconomic level and people with low educational level had less access to health services.
