The professional sufficiency work aims to present the application of a social skills program in a group of adolescents belonging to a private educational institution. The program, held in 2019, consisted of five sessions of 45 minutes each, where topics on self-knowledge, emotional intelligence, self-control, empathy and decision-making were addressed, to strengthen social skills. The evaluation instruments were the Observation Record, the Coexistence Survey, the dialogue with the tutors, teachers and the review of files. The sample consisted of nine students; eight boys and one girl from I of secondary school, which were characterized by presenting unsocial behaviors such as: interrupting classes, playing roughly, expressing themselves in an inappropriate way and treating their classmates badly. In addition, the program presented a pre- and post-test, for which the "Social skills observation sheet" was used, a document created by the educational institution. The results showed progress in the social skills of the students, observing better interaction with their peers and self-regulation of their emotions, which was evidenced in the post-test evaluation. It is concluded that the program generated a positive effect, managing to increase the frequency of their skills, improving the various areas of social skills, favoring school coexistence and reducing unfavorable behaviors.
