The aim of the study was to analyze the problem of the presence of antibiotic residues and antimicrobial resistance in the peruvian aquaculture industry from secondary sources of information and the perception of Veterinary Physicians working in the aquaculture sector. For this, a study was designed that in its first part sought to select original studies, reviews and manuals that have evaluated or discussed the use of antibiotics in aquaculture and cases of antibiotic resistance. The second part of the study conducted a survey of veterinary doctors in the aquaculture sector both in Lima and in the provinces. This survey mainly addressed questions about the use of antibiotics in the aquaculture industry. The study found 21 results of studies of antimicrobial resistance in microorganisms isolated from aquaculture products in various parts of the world; 11 of antimicrobial resistance in microorganisms isolated from aquaculture environments (pools, water) were found 11 results and three of antimicrobial residues in aquaculture products. Information was also obtained from 9 veterinarians who dedicated to the fisheries and aquaculture area. Five of the respondents mentioned having experience of antimicrobial resistance. The bacteria mentioned were: Vibrio sp, Aeromona sp, Yersinia ruckeri, Streptococcus agalactiae and Flavobacterium and the antibiotics involved in resistance were: Amoxicillin, Oxytetracycline, Florfenicol, Oxolinic Acid and Sulfamethoxazole / Trimethoprim.
