The purpose of this study was to correlate the inclination of the occlusal plane with the vertical growth pattern and sagittal of jaws. A total sample of 266 patients´s digital radiographs between ages 12-20 years was selected randomly. Cephalometric analysis were performed using Facad® program. The posterior occlusal plane inclination (POP) and conventional (POC), vertical growth pattern (FMA) and sagittal growth pattern (ANB, USP y APDI) where determined. In the results, significant differences was found between the inclination of the POP and POC of Class I, Class II and Class III and between growth patterns normodivergente, hypodivergent and hyperdivergent both male and female (ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis, p <0.05). Greater correlation was found in females between POP and APDI and between the POP and FMA with an value r = -0.58 and r = 0.55 respectively (Spearman correlation, p<0.01). The results indicate that the inclination of the occlusal plane is different according to different growth patterns vertical and sagittal of jaws and correlated between them.
