The present research on Clinical Psychology had as a general objective, to relate satisfaction with life and coping strategies based on the stages of change in patients who consume psychotropic substances in a specialized center for treatment of alcohol and other drugs consumption in Quito -Ecuador. Secondary investigation with a sample of 160 cases, internal population in an addiction treatment program. Non-experimental-cross-sectional design, using the scientific method, using a database of 3 psychometric instruments (1. Diener's Life Satisfaction Scale, 2.-Ways of Coping Questionnaire for Coping Modes and 3. The University of Rhode Island Change Assessment Scale (URICA) The expected results showed a significant association between life satisfaction and coping modes with the stages of change with low and moderate effect criteria respectively. explained that life satisfaction and coping strategies predict the stages of change by 64% in addiction treatment. The results allow individualized treatment processes, depending on the stages of change, in addition to the development of differentiated treatment protocols , supported by findings of psychological comorbidity processes The adequate management of the intervening variables can It would be related to the progress of the addiction recovery process.
