Introduction: the confinement as a consequence of Covid-19 has caused negative changes in students' lifestyles, especially in the practice of physical activity (PA), since most people remained at home without doing any physical activity (45, 46). Objective: To determine the physical activity levels of students at the School of Public Health and Health Administration of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and Methods: A quantitative, observational, comparative cross-sectional study was conducted, including all the students (N=161). The IPAQ, short version, was used to measure the level of physical activity before and during the pandemic. Results: The response rate was 56.5%. (n=91 students). Comparing PA before and during the pandemic, the number of students in high level decreased by 55.6% and at a moderate level fell 10.9%, while at a low level it increased by 111.1%. In relation to frequency, the number of students performing according to the WHO recommended figures decreased in 36.1%. Conclusions: confinement had negative consequences on both the level of physical activity and the frequency of physical activity as recommended by the WHO.
