The present research seeks to measure child violence associated to psychological violence exercised by the couple in women in a region of Peru. The study made use of the secondary database taken by ENARES 2019, which is available in the public forum of the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI in Spanish). A basic level was used and the study design is cross-sectional correlational. The sample consisted of 459 women with couples from the Sierra region of Peru, 245 cohabiting and 214 married, whose ages were 18 years and older. The instrument used was the questionnaire addressed to women aged 18 years and older, the section on the history of violence in childhood and psychological violence, in women currently in a relationship (married or cohabiting), to measure childhood violence and psychological violence exercised by the couple respectively. The results showed a significant, low, positive correlation between child violence and psychological violence exercised by the couple, using Spearman’s Rho correlation coefficient (rs=0.362). A descriptive analysis revealed that 59% of women had experienced violence in their childhood and 59% experienced psychological violence by their partners in their adult life. In addition, a comparison was made by marital status (married or cohabiting) in psychological violence exercised by the couple, but no significant differences were found between them.
