The purpose of this research was to know and describe the research practices in teachers from a pedagogical institute in the department of Tacna, after its institutional accreditation in the National System of Evaluation, Accreditation and Certification of Educational Quality (Sineace). The Operationalization Sheets of the Standards and Criteria for Evaluation and Accreditation established in 2008 by the Council for Evaluation, Accreditation and Certification of the Quality of Non-University Higher Education (Coneaces), the organization that conducted the evaluation processes of higher education institutions forming teachers- were used as a reference. A qualitative methodology was applied, with a case study design that included the application of semi-structured interviews to teachers-researchers and directors of the institute. The collected information was processed through thematic analysis. The results and conclusions indicate that, in general terms, the research factor has been consolidated in teachers through an improvement in the organization of research, the presence of follow-up strategies, the management of resources for research, the implementation of teacher training plans and the increase in publications and their subsequent dissemination.
