To determine the frequency of third molar location in panoramic radiographs of patients treated at the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Center Cromax, Bogotá, Colombia in 2014-2015. Materials and Methods: A retrospective observational cross-sectional study was performed. The sample was 400 panoramic radiographs and 720 third lower molars, whose images were evaluated taking into account the depth according to the classification of Pell & Gregory, and the proximity according to the classification of Robert Langlais et al. modified to determine the proximity to the lower dental duct. Chi-square, Chisquare tests corrected by Yates, U of Mann Whitney and Kruskall Wallis were used. The study had 95% confidence and a p <0.05. Results: The radiographs belonged of 178 men (44.5%) and 222 women (55.5%) with an average age of 27.8 years, with a standard deviation of 1.9, 360 right molars (50%) and 360 left molars %). The study indicates that 83 molars (11.5%) were not found near the lower duct; While 637 (88.5%) if they were. Conclusions: The depth of the third molars is associated with the proximity to the CDI.
