The work demonstrates the existence of a relationship between academic stress and suicidal ideation, it is also considered a substantive and correlational study, having a sample size made up of a population of 140 students of the VIII and IX cycle of the School of Human Medicine. To this end, the SISCO Inventory of Academic Stress and the Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale, both adapted to the national context, were used as instruments to collect data. Among the findings, it was identified that the sample predominates the high average level of academic stress (51.4%) and the low level of suicidal ideation (96.4%). In addition, it was found that there is a highly significant relationship between the two variables (p = <.01). To conclude, it has been determined that within the population, the greater the academic stress, the greater the tendency for suicidal ideation will be greater.
