Abstract Objective: To determine the levels of fear of COVID-19 in a population of adults from the human settlement Luis Felipe de las Casas in the district of Ventanilla. Materials and Methods: It was assumed a quantitative research approach. Furthermore, the research design employed was descriptive and cross-sectional. A population of 218 participants took part in the study. The survey was applied in the fieldwork, and the instrument was the COVID-19 fear scale. Results: Concerning fear of COVID-19, the medium value had the highest frequency with 69.3% (n=151), followed by the low value with 20.2% (n=44), and the high value with 10.6% (n=23). According to its dimensions, the medium value had the highest frequency in emotional fear reactions with 66.1% (n=144), followed by the low value with 28.9% (n=63), and the high value with 5% (n=11). In somatic manifestations, the low value had the highest frequency with 51.8% (n=113), followed by the medium value with 37.6% (n=82), and the high value with 10.6% (n=23). Conclusions: Regarding fear of COVID-19, the medium value was the most frequent. In emotional fear reactions, the medium value had the highest frequency, and in somatic expressions of fear, the low value had the highest frequency.
