Kangaroo Mother Care is a technique that promotes contact between mother and newborn, thus improving quality of life and reducing the death of babies. The objective was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes about the kangaroo breast method in mothers of moderate preterm infants from a hospital in Chiclayo, 2023. Quantitative, observational, correlational and cross-sectional study. The population was made up of 131 mothers over 18 years of age who gave birth to a moderately premature newborn at the Almanzor Aguinaga Asenjo Hospital. Two questionnaires were used, the first referring to the level of knowledge (14 items) and the second, regarding the mother's attitude (10 items). Both had Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0,719 and 0,789 respectively; Likewise, both were valid through expert judgment. The principles according to Sgrecia were considered. Data processing and analysis was carried out in the SPSS 28 program, applying descriptive, relative and absolute frequency statistics, finding the Rho Spearman coefficient. The results showed the existence of a relationship between the variables knowledge and attitudes, of ,802 with a bilateral significance of ,000. As well as it was also obtained that there is a level regarding knowledge whose indicator was 70,9% and a positive attitude with a result of 100%. It is concluded that there is a significant connection between the good level of knowledge and the attitudes of mothers towards the kangaroo mother method in the context of moderate preterm infants in the hospital.
