The objective of the work was to obtain a feeding protocol, for the recovery of a Tamandua tetradactyla infant, by providing an ideal diet during the stage of breastfeeding at weaning. The research was carried in the Huachipa Zoological Park, located on Las Torres avenue s / n in the district of Ate, province of Lima, department of Lima, Peru, with a temperature of 18 °C and relative humidity of 82%. I arrive a tamandua three-month-old, with 1950 g of live weight, producto de la incautación seizure of the National Forest and Wildlife Service (SERFOR), coming from the traffic of wild animals. The tamandua was diagnosed with hypothermia and good body condition; For this reason, she was kept under a thermal source and received assisted feeding based on milk substitutes for a month, going from a feeding supported with a syringe to a bottle when she regained her suction capacity. The formulation was carried out with the zootrition vs. 2.5 using the information provided by the different zoos on three continents (North America, South America and Europe) and ingredients available in the area. The results obtained show that the mixture containing formula milk for dogs and serum allows the gastric development of Tamandua tetradactyla and later the introduction of other protein sources of vegetable and/or animal origin.
