ABSTRACT The main objective of this thesis titled "Public spending on the Vaso de Leche program and chronic malnutrition in the Ancash region, 2012 - 2021" was to determine the impact of public spending on the Vaso de Leche program on chronic malnutrition in the Ancash region during the study period. To this end, an exhaustive analysis of the existing theoretical framework was carried out, considering the dependency theory and the theory of public spending. In addition, a quantitative approach was used with a non-experimental design of correlational and explanatory scope, using panel data. The population and sample of the study included 18 provinces of the Ancash region for the period analyzed. The information was collected from the Economic Transparency portal, the Demographic and Family Health Survey, and the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics. The results, obtained through a panel data regression model with fixed effects, showed that there is an effect of the program's public spending on chronic malnutrition, indicating that it decreases by 0.59% for every 1% increase in the spent. After discussing the results and the corresponding statistical validation, it was concluded that public spending on the Glass of Milk program has an inverse and significant relationship with chronic malnutrition in the Ancash region during the study period.
