ABSTRACT The problem of the competitiveness of today's professionals falls directly on the management that exists in Universities or technical centers that offer a certain educational quality, which as seen in the current statistics on unemployment of the young active population, it is a critical problem. This research will allow us to analyze and explain how it is that the good management of curricular diversification, in this case, adopting a style of applied anthropology as an intervention strategy, could help to improve the formation of professional competences of the students of the career of Anthropology of the National University of Trujillo. The research is of a basic type of explanatory level, with a quantitative approach, and of cross-correlational design or cross-sectional. The technique used was the survey for both variables and as an instrument for the questionnaire. The population is made up of 168 students enrolled in 2020, the sample was random and consisted of 61 students from the last academic cycles. In the study it was possible to analyze the cracks that are being shown by the inadequate handling of the curricular development that directly affects the labor insertion; The panorama is varied, but there are deficiencies in the development of soft skills and professional capacities of the student in relation to the productive and economic activities of the region. The lack of a culture of applied anthropology internalized by students for the creation of intervention programs or strategies is another critical point in this study, which is why a theoretical model was proposed, in order to safeguard and improve the educational offer of the career of anthropology.
