The present investigation was proposed with the objective of describing the clinical characteristics and blood count in patients with COVID-19 treated at a Hospital in Utcubamba, Amazonas, Peru, during the period from September 2020 to December 2021. The methodology was observational, retrospective and correlational, and included 1033 patients hospitalized with COVID – 19; applying documentary review and a data collection sheet; processing information with the descriptive analytical method. Male sex (58,86%) and ages ≥ 50 years (56,82%) presented more frequently, the most common symptoms, such as fever/chills (73,52%), were observed mainly in men. In the group aged ≥ 50 years, general malaise and fever/chills (70,36%) were the most common. The radiographic finding was the most frequent sign in both sexes, 17,76% (men) and 14,12% (women), with a greater presence in those ≥ 50 years of age (18,40%). The hematimetric characteristics showed leukocytosis (45,8%), neutrophilia (60,70%), lymphopenia (58,86%) and plateletopenia (21,68%). It is concluded that the most frequent symptoms observed according to age and sex were fever/chills, general discomfort, cough, and respiratory difficulty. Similarly, the most common signs were radiographic findings and dyspnea/tachypnea. Regarding hematimetric characteristics, neutrophilia, lymphopenia, leukocytosis, and thrombocytopenia were highlighted.
