ABSTRACT The objective of this research work was to evaluate the microbiological quality in natural shampoos marketed in the province of Trujillo during the year 2024. The sample consisted of eight brands of natural shampoos coded as M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6, M7 and M8 from different lots sold in the Province of Trujillo. Total aerobic mesophilic bacteria were quantified and the presence or absence of Staphylococcus aureus, Echericha coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungi determined in the natural shampoos of the study, using specific culture media for the isolation of each bacteria and fungi; Each seeded sample was incubated at a temperature of 35 ºC for 24 to 48 hours for the bacteria and a time of 7 days was given for the growth of fungi at room temperature. Sowing was carried out in duplicate. It was concluded that the recognized brands (M3 in royal jelly and chmomile presentation) and the unrecognized brand (M8 in nettle extract presentation) comply with the microbiological limits for the count of total aerobic mesophiles according to the Bacteriological Analytical Manual; The presence of fungi (molds and yeasts) was determined in 25% of the total samples analyzed. Finally, the total aerobic mesophilic bacteria of the analyzed samples were acceptable according to resolution No. 1842: Limits of microbiological content of cosmetic products for the Andean community of nations and the presence of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Echericha coli was not detected in the simples of natural shampoo evaluated.
