The present research focused on demonstrating that the applicat ion of the "Speaking is wonderful" Program, based on playful strategies, stimulates the development of oral expression in the first grade secondary students of "Antonio Torres Araujo" school i n Trujillo. The research is of a quantitative type, with a quasi experimental design of two groups. The population consisted of 173 students and the sample was 74 students: 37 for the experimental group and 37 for the control group. The instruments applied were the rubric, the pretest and postest, which were validated b y expert judgment, obtaining a validity of 0.92 (V Aiken) and reliability of 0.78 (KR20). The pretest and postest tests consisted of four levels: Start ing, Process, Expected and Outstanding I n the pretest, it was observed that 54% of the students showed a low level in oral expression where the mean of the control group was 06.15; However, after applying the postest, it was observed that 62% of the students in the experimental group improved th eir average to 16.6 points, reaching the “expected” level; Likew ise, when comparing the means between the pretest and postest, it increased 12.13 points on a vigesimal scale in the experimental group, and in the control group it only increased 6.23 points. At the level of dimensions, it was observed that “pronunciation ” improved 57%, in “coherence” improved 56%, “fluency” improved 64% and in “interaction” 65%, reaching the “expected” level. According to the normality test and the Student's t test, they conf irmed that the program had a significant influence (sig = 0.000 <0.05%) on the development of oral expression. In conclusion, the application of the "Speaking is wonderful" program significantly influenced the development of oral expression in the first gr ade secondary students of "Antonio Torres Araujo"
