ABSTRACT The current research called Habits and customs of families related to sanitary education - potable water and sewerage - Florencia de Mora; it was made in Florencia de Mora District, La Libertad region; it aims to explain how habits and customs of the families are related to the sanitary education in the uses of drinkable water and sewerage services in the zone 14 of the district.The research problem is how are related the habits and customs of families to sanitary education in the use of drinkable water and sanitation services in zone 14 of the Florencia de Mora District in 2021. According to the universe made up of 676 houses, there were taken 62 families as a sample. The culturalist and functionalist theories were considered to argue and support the investigation; and techniques as the observation, interviews, and bibliographic review; in addition, instruments such as a survey, field notebook, camera, voice recorder, interview, and observation guides were used to do 16 interviews and 46 surveys to the families, who collaborated by providing information of their daily routine. It is mixed research that pretends to explain through inductive - deductive, ethnographic, and ethnological methods, the relationship between sanitary education, habits, and customs of the area families. The most relevant conclusions of the investigation are that sanitation education is fundamental for the development of habits and customs related to the use of drinking water and sewerage, regarding the results of the investigation it was known that the activities in which there is a poor rationalization of water are personal hygiene, specially the time it takes for families to take a bath, and cleaning the exterior of their homes, there is a significant percentage of families that do not have a payment culture of services due to economic factors, there are families that do not carry out constant maintenance to drinking water storage containers, they do not boil the water and have a basic knowledge about their duties, rights, and diseases related to sanitation.
