The current thesis project focuses on the development and evaluation of a radial segment gate that will be used to regulate the collection of water in the irrigation system of the El Carmelo intake. To carry out this task, an exhaustive investigation was carried out on the design of gates and the national and international technical standards in force in this field were reviewed. The thesis is carried out in El Carmelo, a town located at a distance of 16.50 km from La Libertad, located in Peru, in the district of Virú. The text refers to the geographical location of La Libertad, which is located at the coordinates of 8°28'3.84'' south latitude and 78°51'57.12'' west longitude, and has an altitude of 58 msnm. The main objective is to design and calculate the mechanical characteristics of a Radial Segment type gate, including the arms and the forces applied to the fixed parts. We check the reliability of the agricultural irrigation systems. materials used in the design by subjecting them to tension and compression forces. The results obtained in the computational analysis were favorable, which supports our conclusions.
