Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi are microorganism that establish mutualistic symbiotic relationship with plants roots. Due to their positive effects on growing and developing of the plants, this fungus are considered as a potential tool for ecological management of agriculture, especially in a highly mycotrophic plant like Coffea arabica. The aim of this investigation was indetify and compare molecularly the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities associated with plants of Coffea arabica with differente ages and soil characteristics in the San Martín region. The arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities were analyzed using the FLR3-NDL22 region of the 28S rDNA and TRFLP database and peak profiles approachs; as well as by a phylogenetic analysis. Addtionally, the percentage of mycorrhizal colonization and environmental variables were taken into account. The results suggest a high percentage of mycorrhizal colonization in plants older than 3 years; in the same way, the plants showed similarity in the richness of species present in the arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal communities studied, being formed by the Acaulosporaceae and Glomeraceae families and being influenced by environmental variables and plant age
