ABSTRACT In order to evaluate the effects of the two varieties of Pleurotus on the nutritional composition and in vitro digestibility of Zea mays “Corn stover ". We took 15 random samples of corn stover for each variety, of the Trujillo city. The treatments were: corn stover untreated (PMST1); corn stover treated with Pleurotus ostreatus (PMT1), corn stover untreated (PMST2) and corn stover treated with Pleurotus pulmonarius (PMT2). The evaluated variables were PC, Ethereal extract, FC, ELN, ashes, and NDF. The results obtained from PMST1 and PMT1 were: 6.17% and 11.82% in PC; 0.41% and 0.45% in E.E., 32.87% and 23.94% in FC; 6.95% and 8.88% in ashes; 51.74% and 54.91% in E.L.N. ; 84.6% and 55.47% in NDF respectively, with significant statistical differences (p <0.05) between treatments; as soon as the in vitro digestibility there was a positive effect of PMT1compared to the PMST1, achieving in PMT1 10.58% greater digestibility than the PMST1; The results obtained from PMST2 and PMT2 were 6.05% and 10.42% in PC; 0.40% and 0.43% in E.E., 32.44% and 24.45% in FC; 6.81% and 8.06% in ashes; 51.49% and 53.48% in E.L.N. ; 83.75% and 59.23% in FDN; as soon as in vitro digestibility was achieved in PMT2: 5.97% greater digestibility than PMST2; It was concluded that the corn stover treatment with Pleurotus ostreatus and Pleurotus pulmonarius improves the nutritional composition and in vitro digestibility.
