ABSTRACT: The main objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between economic growth and the unemployment rate, Okun's Law for the member countries of the Pacific Alliance, during the period 2012-2021. For this, the annual data of the World Bank of the countries of Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile were used, the evolution of economic growth and unemployment of the member countries was analyzed, as well as the relationship between economic growth (real GDP ) and the unemployment rate under the Okun's Law approach, through the first differences model, the estimates have been developed in a logarithmic way, being the best case, panel data with random effects in the period, where considers the 2020 period as a dummy variable, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, there is an inverse and significant relationship between economic growth and unemployment, so that given a 1% increase in economic growth, unemployment will decrease at 2.28% for the member countries of the Pacific Alliance.
