The objective of this research project was to determine the frequency of enteroparasites in Lactuca sativa L. “lechuga” var. Tropicana from the San Sebastián market, Cajamarca district – Peru (July – December, 2023); constituting a basic, descriptive and transversal research; where the sampling unit corresponded to the evaluation of each specimen of “lettuce”, the population forming the repetition of evaluations of each sampling unit, with which the population tends to infinity; and, from it, a random sample of 120 units was extracted, estimated using the statistical formula for infinite population and dichotomous qualitative variable. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics; through percentage frequencies, proportion test, analysis of variance, Fisher test, Spearman correlation and multivariate analysis; using Minitab 18.0 and Past 4.1 Programs. Making the decision with 95% confidence. The results showed cysts of Entamoeba hystolitica (39.17%), Entamoeba coli (13.33%), Blastocystis hominis (35%) and Giardia lamblia (13.33%); as well as Strongyloides stercoralis larvae (21.67%) and Hymenolepis nana eggs (9.17%). Concluding that the samples of Lactuca sativa “lettuce” var. Tropicana from the San Sebastián market, Cajamarca district – Peru present a high frequency (61.67%) of enteroparasites.
