ABSTRACT In this research work has been made the study of acidification of irrigation water, with the aim of improving the production of 88.0 Has of piquillo peppers, which is a crop that has become one of the main products of the basket agroexportadora and in one of the main engines of growth of the agricultural sector in Peru. The project is located in the TERELA SA farm. District of Castilla - Piura region. To carry out the study of acidification of irrigation water, the basic data of a literature review on the special requirements for a good development and production of the studied crop, such as the quality of irrigation water and parameters such as pH, were taken into account. and electrical conductivity, as well as the type of soil and its availability of nutrients at different pH variations. As for the acidification of irrigation water, sulfuric acid (H2SO4) was used at 98% purity, due to its high concentration of acidity, minimum quantities are necessary to reach the required pH, at the same time because it has a low cost compared to other commercial acids. Likewise, the results of all the indicated objectives are presented making an analysis in the physic chemical parameters of the irrigation water and the soil, in such a way an analysis was obtained in the acidification process, evaluating costs and efficiency of the system, in addition it presents the production of the crop using irrigation water without acidification and using the acidification process.
