ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of inequality and poverty on Peru's economic growth in the period 2001 - 2021. Based on statistical series of poverty, statistical series of inequality (GINI Index) and statistical series of economic growth (Var. GDP) taken from different sources such as BCRP, INEI and ENAHO. The method used was the hypothetical deductive, analytical method using the documentary analysis technique. The relational analysis was derived using the stationarity criteria given by the Dickey-Fuller test, the Akaike, Schwarz and Hannan-Quinn criteria, and the Portmanteau test. The results determined that the influence of inequality and monetary poverty on Peru's economic growth is inverse, since the positive impulses from GDP indicate a decrease in both indicators, the GINI index and monetary poverty. Poverty is in a trap situation of a middle-income country, which does not find a way to close the structural gaps that explain the still high poverty rate at the national and especially regional level.
