The present study was prospective, descriptive, and observational in 80 patients with the diagnosis of ischemic heart disease of the Cardiology Department of the Victor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital in Trujillo. Objective: To determine the Periodontal Evaluation and the Need for treatment in patients with ischemic heart disease from the cardiology Service-Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital, Trujillo. Material and Method: Inclusion criteria were: Patients who presented more than 3 dental pieces per sextant or presented a full arch, older than 50 years with a diagnosis of ischemic heart disease (Angina pectoris and Acute Myocardial Infarction) and people who agreed to participate in the investigation, with a signed informed consent. Results: In the Periodontal evaluation and the Need for Treatment in ischemic heart patients in UCA-MG they have NT1 with 12.5% and recession 12.5% with NT2; 25% enlargement NT1. 25% of patients did not present periodontal pocket but if bleeding on probing being 18.8% with NT1 they did not present bleeding on probing; patients with NT2 presented loss in CIN and 22.5% with NT1 did not present CIN. In the Periodontal Evaluation according to gender, it was observed that there is no significant difference (p>0.05) between male and female gender. It can also be appreciated that the largest significant difference in male patients who presented gingival enlargement 45% and 10% in female patients. In the Periodontal evaluation according to the age group in UCA-MG (p<0.05) the significant difference was observed between patients aged 50-70 years and 71 years and older presented a normal value between 5% and 15%. probing depth 71 years and older did not present periodontal pocket 36.3% compared to 31.3% who did present periodontal pocket. 38.8% of 71 years and older presented bleeding on probing and CIN, unlike 12.5% of patients 50-70 years did not present bleeding on probing or CIN In the Community Periodontal Treatment Need Index (INTPC) according to gender, male patients presented 33.8% of NT1 compared to 10% in female gender. In INTPC and the age group, patients aged 71 years and older presented 28.7% NT1, which indicates that with this high percentage they must improve their oral hygiene. Conclusion: It was found to the Periodontal Evaluation and the Necessity of Periodontal Treatment that there was no statistical relationship between both variables. Male patients presented a higher percentage such as 51.2% bleeding on probing, 48.8% CIN and 45% more gingival enlargement than the female gender, which was 10% of the total, but they did have periodontal pocket as opposed to the male gender. Patients aged 71 years and older presented a higher percentage in the Periodontal Evaluation, unlike cardiac patients between 50-70 years.
