ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the protection measures issued in the processes of violence in which the victims are women who live in a rural area; To do this, the files processed in 2020 in the Mixed Court of the Otuzco-La Libertad province were analyzed, in which protection measures have been issued in favor of women living in rural areas; Statistical information from files was collected and five specialists from the different institutions that deal with cases of violence in Otuzco were interviewed; In order to achieve the objectives of the investigation, the protection measures issued in 43 processes in which the victims are women from rural areas were evaluated; The information was processed in statistical graphics, it was contrasted with what was referred to by the specialists, and based on the theoretical framework, the results were that the protection measures issued in favor of women victims of violence in rural areas are not effective, since do not effectively protect the victims, it is evident that it is necessary to include as a criterion for the issuance of protection measures the situation and eographical location of women.
