ABSTRACT The objective of this research work is to determine the flood areas using the Iber software for free download in the Moche River, Puente Conache section up to Cerro Blanco, La Libertad Region, according to their maximum flow. The methodology of the work was executed with historical data from 1950 to 2017 taken from the Quirihuac Hydrometric Station; the hydrological analysis was carried out applying the maximum flood estimation method, using Excel program sheets, the Hyfran software was also downloaded free of charge for the goodness of fit test for a given return period. The hydraulic analysis was developed with the aforementioned software, which allowed us to obtain maximum water levels along the river, previous topographic survey by drone of the study area of 8.6 km, we proceeded to evaluate the simulation with a return period of 140 years, in this way it was possible to identify possible flooded areas, with the sole purpose of providing future damages due to the increase in the waters of the Moche river. It was concluded that the affected areas in the Puente Conache sections are left margin 9 hectares and in the right margin 8.5 hectares. And Cerro Blanco is left margin 5 has and in the right margin 4.5 has.
