The present investigation entitled "Proposal of the MEC Program to Promote Body Competence in Students of Initial Education of the National University of Trujillo, 2020", has the objective of developing a proposal for a MEC program to promote body competence in university students when they start the study program. The research was designed as a purposeful descriptive study and included a sample of 35 first-cycle students. They were assessed using a validated assessment scale consisting of 25 questions. Each item in the scale was scored on a scale of 1 to 3, where 1 indicated "never", 2 indicated "sometimes", and 3 indicated "always". The results obtained at the end of the statistical study showed that the level of body competence is only 10%. The movement dimension also scored 10%, while the level of expression showed 10% at an advanced level. At the communication level, the results showed a higher score of 20%. In conclusion, after making an analysis and bibliographically researching the foundations, importance and characteristics of body competence, movement, expression, and communication, it was found necessary to implement the MEC program for Initial Education students at the National University of Trujillo. This program aims at improving their bodily and communicative skills, which would reflect positively on their professional performance in the community.
