The research was carried out using a quantitative methodology applied with two study groups (experimental and control) and quasi-experimental design. The objective was to demonstrate the influence of the use of the blog on the development of digital competence of fifth grade students of the I.E. N°10157 Inca Garcilaso de la Vega de Mórrope, 2019. The sample was made up of 34 students for the G.E. and 33 for the G.C. To achieve the objective, the strategy “We promote the preservation of our cultural identity” was designed and implemented and applied to the experimental group. Two questionnaires were used to collect information, at first (pretest) to characterize the students and find out what their weaknesses are in relation to digital competence according to its four dimensions; and after the implementation of the strategy, the questionnaire was applied again to the experimental group to determine the influence of the blog on the development of digital skills, where it was evident that the students developed digital skills and were used to build their learning. The use of the blog was favorable to achieve communication, management, interaction and creation of digital objects. The students recognized the importance and benefit of using it to study and share important information from the area of Education for Work. In conclusion, the intervention strategy with Blogs effectively promotes the development of digital skills and a significant increase in active participation and quality of content.
