Lamas City presents a disordered urban growth caused by the topographic, social and cultural division between its neighborhoods, one of the most serious consequences of this is the segregation of the Barrio Wayku. The resulting city is an internally disconnected one due to the lack of public places and sidewalks, or due to the deficiency of the existing ones. Meanwhile, there is a traditional architecture, especially evident in the Barrio Wayku, which offers characteristics of spatiality, materiality and relationship with open places that, having been forgotten, are nonetheless valuable and coincide with contemporary urbanism trends, which value mixed zoning, sustainability and public places. This project aims to contribute to a landscape integration that benefits the entire city, with special emphasis on the Barrio Wayku, not only through the design of roads, public spaces and facilities, but also through a conception of these interventions based on a critical recovery of the architectural culture of the neighborhood's community. By the way, this is a project that seeks to cultivate an urban identity for which communal activity is an important part of daily life, as well as to increase the quality of urban life by providing a greater degree of internal mobility and an occupation of open places that favors the well-being of users, their connection with the environment and the vitality of their neighborhood ties.
