The current investigation aimed to determine the relationship between socio-cultural factors of mothers and anemia prevention in children aged 6 to 36 months who attend in San Luis health center, 2017. Method was descriptive, cross-sectional correlational design, quantitative type. The sample consisted of 148 mothers. For data collection, a questionnaire was used as a tool, which obtained a Cronbach’s Alfa strong reliability of 0.899 and 0.846. The results showed that 30.41% of the mothers have a high level in socio-cultural factors, 42.57% submit an average level and 27.03% file a low level, it is also evidenced that 20.95% have a good level in regard to prevention of anemia, 41.89% set out a regular level and 37.16% register a bad level. It was concluded that sociocultural factors are directly and positively related to prevention of anemia, according to Spearman correlation of 0.687 represented this result as moderate with a statistical significance of p = 0.001 being lower than 0.01. Therefore, main hypothesis was accepted and null hypothesis is rejected. It was recommended that health staff of San Luis Health Center to train constantly mothers about importance of anemia prevention in their children, through lectures, and nutrition demonstration sessions to accomplish a better quality of life in their children
