Abstract: La tiroides es la glándula encargada de regular los procesos de metabolismo del cuerpo humano su alteración causa manifestaciones clínicas y orales.
Su desarrollo comienza en el veinticuatro día de gestación, situada en la parte inferior y anterior del cuello tiene una forma de H o mariposa y tiene dos lóbulos conectados por un istmo, que suele ser situado sobre el segundo y tercer anillo de la tráquea.
Osteoporosis en los maxilares erupción dentaria precoz cuando se presenta como el incremento en la función de la glándula tiroidea. Macroglosia, agrandamiento de labios, retardo en la erupción y exfoliación dentaria cuando se presenta como la disminución de la función de la glándula tiroidea. Estas manifestaciones pueden pasar desapercibidas por la falta de preparación de los profesionales para atender a éste grupo de pacientes.
Siendo el objetivo del presente trabajo es estudiar los diferentes manejos y consideraciones en la atención odontológica de acuerdo a la patología que presentan éste grupo de pacientes, para poder mejorar el abordaje, teniendo en cuenta el trabajo multidisciplinario para el beneficio de los pacientes con estas alteraciones. A su vez tener conocimiento de los fármacos usados y las consideraciones a tener en cuenta para su tratamiento.
The thyroid is the gland responsible for regulating the metabolism processes of the human body. Its alteration causes clinical and oral manifestations. Its development begins on the twenty-fourth day of gestation, located at the lower and anterior part of the neck has an H-shape or butterfly and has two lobes connected by an isthmus, which is usually located on the second and third ring of the trachea. Osteoporosis in the jaws early dental eruption when presented as the increase in the function of the thyroid gland. Macroglosia, enlarged lips, delayed eruption and tooth exfoliation when it occurs as the decrease in the function of the thyroid gland. These manifestations can go unnoticed due to the lack of preparation of the professionals to attend this group of patients. Being the objective of the present work is to study the different management and considerations in 6 dental care according to the pathology presented by this group of patients, in order to improve the approach, taking into account the multidisciplinary work for the benefit of patients with these alterations. At the same time have knowledge of the used drugs and the considerations to take into account for their treatment.
