The study "Workload and satisfaction of nurses of the Emergency Service of the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho, 2018", whose general objective was to determine the relationship that exists between the workload and the satisfaction of nurses in the emergency service. The investigation was descriptive-correlational, not experimental. The population and shows 42 nurses. The collection of information on the workload, the instrument was Oneys del Carmen De Arco Canoles (2005) with 37 items, reliability of 0,884 and job satisfaction the MINSA questionnaire (2002) with 20 items, reliability of 0,890, both questionnaires adapted by the Lic. Bridith Margarita Campos Taquire. Results: average level of work load, 32 nurses (76.2%), in its dimensions: physical, medium level 29 (69%), psychological, medium level 40 (95.2%); behavioral, average level 36 (85.7%) and coping medium level 30 (71.4%), job satisfaction, low level 28 (66.7%). Conclusion: there is an inverse relationship between the workload and the satisfaction of the nurses and it is recommended to the General Director of the Hospital and human resources, to hire more nursing professionals to reduce the workload and optimize the working conditions of nurses and improve job satisfaction.
