The objective of this work was to determine if the use of the Moringa oleifera (moringa) of the GEISEL Agar in the detection of Escherichia coli is good. The Moringa leaves were from the peasant community "Santa Lucía de Ferreñafe, sector 5" El Progreso ", Pátapo District, located at 118 masl L. 06 ° 38'24 'of the Department of Lambayeque. The phytochemical study showed greater solubility with water and ethanol and in them metabolites such as carbohydrates, amino acids, alkaloids, flavonoids, and phenolic compounds were detected. 40 cultures were carried out with Escherichia coli ATCC No. 8739, distributed according to the type of culture medium: 10 Plate Count Agar, 10 Moringa Agar 0.1%, 10 Moringa Agar 1% and Moringa Agar 5%. In all the means of sowing by multiple stretch marks and the Agar Plate Count was considered as a medium of standard culture. In the macroscopic study of the 1% oleing Moringa Agar (GEISEL Agar) two evaluation parameters were considered: isolation and visualization of the morphology of the bacterial colony; also for the strains of Escherichia coli ATCC No. 8739 a qualifier of 90% (good) and 10% (regular) was obtained and for the Plate Count Agar 100% of the qualifier (good). It was concluded that the use of 1% oleing Moringa (GEISEL agar) in the detection of bacterial contaminants is good.
