The research aimed to determine the relationship between lifestyles and preventive care in the hypertension of the elderly, Carlos Protzel Health Center, 2018. Descriptive and quantitative type research, of correlational design. The population was 185 patients and the sample 125. The questionnaire, assessed by expert judgement, and with a Chrombach Alpha reliability of 0.878 and 0.861 was used as an instrument. In the results 28.00% had a good lifestyle, 48.00% a regular one and 24.00% a bad one, also 26.40% have good preventive care for high blood pressure, 48.80% regular and 24.80% bad. It was concluded that there is a significant relationship between lifestyles and preventive care in high blood pressure. It was recommended to the nursing professionals of the Carlos Protzel Health Center, to develop workshops where key information is provided to patients in the prevention of high blood pressure, trying to raise awareness of the importance of improving their styles of in relation to your health and possible complications such as high blood pressure that may cause your death.
