The concurrent study of descriptive type and non-experimental design, aims to define the level of social skills in high school students of a particular educational institution of San Juan de Lurigancho. The instrument used was the Checklist of Social Skills of Goldstein (1978), but adapted to Peru by Tomás Ambrosio (1994 -1995). The sample consisted of 54 students of both sexes, whose ages fluctuate between 12 and 17 years, a census sampling was used. Among the results we had 44.44% corresponding to a "Deficient" level and 14.81% corresponds to a "Low" level, with respect to social skills. In the following IV factors, these same results are shown; therefore, an intervention program is carried out with the purpose and intention of being able to increase the results in a positive way in the students in said institution
